About Gulf Coast Business Council

The Gulf Coast Business Council brings top executives of businesses both large and small together to be the united voice on public policy issues important to the Mississippi Gulf Coast. 

The GCBC provides leadership in areas of public policy including governmental and legislative affairs, military and defense related industry, economic development, infrastructure, education, workforce development and regional leadership development. This organization works to align the interests of all communities in the three coastal counties and will represent them with one strong and united voice in Jackson and in Washington D.C. 

GCBC succeeds with its regional agenda because of its focus on public policy and other strategic issues. The unification of top business leaders from all industry sectors across the Mississippi Gulf Coast means the GCBC membership represents more than 75% of the entire employed workforce in the region.

Our Mission

The mission of the Gulf Coast Business Council is to be the unifying voice of business and industry in public policy discourse. The council exists to inform and engage our members in order to identify, develop and advocate for solutions that enhance our competitive advantage so we can grow our economy and improve the quality of life in Coastal Mississippi.

GCBC Research Foundation

The Research Foundation is a non-profit corporation that expects to be recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) entity.  The corporation has been organized to engage exclusively in charitable, educational and/or scientific activities.  Its initial activities will be to participate in the ownership as a minority owner and operation of a non-profit center building that will provide offices and support services to various non-profit organizations on the Coast that serve the local community.  The Research Foundation may also provide financial assistance for the community support activities of the non-profit organizations that operate on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, including the activities of the Gulf Coast Business Council, an affiliated nonprofit corporation.

The Gulf Coast Business Council Political Action Committee (PAC) stands at the forefront of advocating for the economic vitality and prosperity of the Gulf Coast region. Committed to promoting policies and candidates that support business growth, innovation, and community development, the PAC serves as a powerful voice for the business community in shaping legislative priorities and fostering a conducive business environment. With a mission to champion pro-business initiatives and cultivate partnerships between policymakers and stakeholders, the Gulf Coast Business Council PAC plays a pivotal role in driving economic progress and enhancing the competitiveness of the Gulf Coast’s business landscape.
